Cinta Sang Ratu & Ramlee Awang Murshid

This time….i would to review my long time favorites writer-Ramlee Awang Murshid…I have almost (actually all but some has been borrow forever) collection of his written in my own library. The writer name Ramlee Awang Murshid. For some of you not reading the malay novel, I will like to introduce this brilliant yet convince writer in Malay Novel for a great start. Ramlee are from Sabah currently working under RTM. You can check out Ramlee bio at this site.




I start reading malay novel since standard 6, because I have teenage sister by that time, so most influence reading habit come from her. If u can imagine how 12 year old girls already reading a love stories since that age, u also should know how I became familiar with the stories. Most of the time I just start reading the title, I already know what is the ending. When I was doing my diploma, I rarely read novel anymore until one of my semester break I come across Ramlee Awang Murshid novel. The word thriller attracts me to buy and read this book until the end. Yet, the end not really that can call ‘the end’. So because earlier I said that this writer is brilliant, so he has to make sequel to the novel to make to ‘the end’, the conclusion that I made that no end for Ramlee novel. It always not satisfied after reading one until one of his novel. Not all Ramlee novel are related or a sequel, still it always a question what really happen to some character after reading the novel. The famous Ramlee written is Trilogy Tombiruo (contain 3 novel title: Tombiriuo, Semangat Hutan and Tombiruo Terakhir). Ramlee also has won for his literature for the novel Pen Pai. Latest Ramlee novel in the market and I just finished reading are title Cinta Sang Ratu. Cinta Sang Ratu are other trilogy in the making, the first novel actually title Bagaikan Puteri.

Eagerly read to know what happen to Laksaman Sunan and Haryani, first impreassion are unsatisfied because Haryani love to Laksamana Sunan is not continue in this new novel. Both character although still remember each other but in new relationship stories in different kind of time and still in the weird, mysterious kind of adventures, u can find amazing new character especially sang ratu a.k.a Ratna (new love for Laksamana Sunan), Senggara, Male Mermaid (ikan duyung) and Serigala Jadian. The laksaman Sunan era start after a fight with Sang Ratu when Laksamana get really hurt. Then the Ratu feel pity for him. In Haryani era (nowadays), the stories start based on true disaster in Acheh called Tsunami. It stories to save Dani (the character actually also from first novel) that has lost his mind after tsunami happen and stuck in Acheh. In the way stories begin that disappointed in some where but through the stories you will felt exicited again to find out what happen to each character until the end. As I read to the end, I know this story will continue again in other sequel coming out by Ramlee. This story of Laksamana Sunan has also some how manage to influence and educate reader the way of live suppose Muslim should attempt. And as I read the dialog by Laksamana Sunan “sebagai manusia aku sayangkan mu’ and line like ‘berbaik sangka sesama manusia’ and ‘berbaik sangka kepada Allah S.W.T’ make me realize how should political in Malaysian especially the so called Islamic Party should changes their strategies in winning next election either finding what government has do wrong. See how this book has changes my mind and pt it far for what it write. So, grab yourself copy and its worthy.
